OneVillage and Cancer Support Community Partner to Bring Cancer Education to the Workplace Through Expert Seminars
WASHINGTON, D.C. — June 10, 2025 — OneVillage, the healthcare technology company transforming access to supportive care for people navigating serious health challenges, today announced a strategic partnership with Cancer Support Community (“CSC”) and Gilda’s Club to deliver expert-led cancer education seminars directly to the workplace. Formed by the merger of Cancer Support Community and Gilda’s Club, their combined organization is the world’s largest professionally led network of cancer support with a mission to uplift and strengthen people impacted by cancer by providing support, fostering compassionate communities, and breaking down barriers to care.
Our partnership leverages the Cancer Support Community’s globally trusted When Cancer Comes to Work® program and clinical expertise to power OneVillage’s widely adopted Expert Seminars Program, which provides employers with 60-minute, evidence-based sessions focused on improving employee wellbeing, building empathy, and addressing the emotional and practical realities of cancer in the workplace.
Each seminar is delivered by a credentialed and licensed mental health professional and is available for on-demand booking. Proceeds from these sessions go directly to CSC to support its mission of ensuring that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action, and sustained by community.
“We are proud to partner with Cancer Support Community, an outstanding organization that shares our commitment to expanding access to compassionate, high-quality care,” said Ashley Yesayan, Founder and CEO of OneVillage. “As someone who navigated cancer while working full-time, I know how isolating and overwhelming it can be. These are not abstract issues—they’re deeply personal. Together, we’re bringing real-world tools and training into the workplace so that no one has to face a diagnosis—or the weight of caregiving—without empathy, understanding, and support.”
Seminars include:
- Building a Compassionate Workplace: A guide for HR leaders and managers on supporting employees with serious illness while navigating legal and cultural responsibilities.
- How to Support a Loved One, Friend, or Coworker with a Cancer Diagnosis: Practical tools for showing up meaningfully for someone navigating cancer.
- Push the Pause Button – Support for Caregivers: Focused on the emotional toll of caregiving and how to balance it with work and life.
- Knowing Your Risk – Cancer Genetics: An educational overview of inherited cancer risk and what individuals should know about screening and prevention.
- Empathy in the Workplace: Real-world strategies for handling sensitive conversations about cancer, grief, and chronic illness in the workplace.
These offerings are designed HR professionals, people managers, employee resource groups, or any employee who is interested in education and resources tailored to create a more empathetic, resilient, and inclusive workplace culture.
"This collaboration reflects Cancer Support Community’s commitment to meeting cancer patients and their caregivers where they are—including in the workplace,” said Sally Werner, RN, BSN, MSHA, Chief Executive Officer of Cancer Support Community. “We’re proud to integrate this kind of meaningful support into the work environment, helping individuals navigate cancer with dignity and compassion."
