If you’ve been diagnosed with cancer or are taking care of a loved
one with cancer, OneVillage is here to help. Designed by survivors and supporters then reviewed by medical professionals and patients, we’re creating a safe, online space for the cancer community to find everything they need. But how do you get started? Let’s look at all the tools that are available to you, for free, on OneVillage.

Your Village

After you’ve completed the signup process for OneVillage, you’ll see a new button appear on your menu next to ‘Your Feed.’ This is where you can access your Village!

Your Village is a private space for you to update your community, share your story, and get the help you need. Start by adding your close friends and family to your Village by sending them an email invite. We’ll let them know how to get started, and they’ll be able to get notifications when you share updates with your Village.

Next, add your story! Your story is the reason why you’ve created a Village; we recommend sharing as much as you’re comfortable with, including you or your loved one's diagnosis, where you are in the treatment process, and other personal stories that will help your friends and family understand your cancer experience. (For caregivers setting up a Village for someone else, make sure you get permission before sharing their story.)

Now your Village is up and running! As you or your loved one's treatment continues, you can share updates with your community here. In the near future, you’ll also be able to ask for help with certain tasks like meals, childcare, or dog walking, as well as assign support to various loved ones that are eager to help.

Your Wishlist

Now that your Village is ready, it’s time to start your Wishlist! You might not realize it now, but there are lots of products and services out there that can help as you prepare for/recover from surgery, and manage the side effects of cancer and treatment. Your Wishlist is designed to help you get what you need (instead of 50 bouquets of flowers!). Our team and Medical Review Board have worked carefully with cancer survivors and caregivers to select each of these products for you.

To get started, visit the OneVillage Shop and choose the products you or your loved one would enjoy, then use the ‘heart’ icon to add them to your Wishlist. Now your supporters can easily purchase the product for you and send it your way!

Another place you can find products is through recommendations in our Discover groups.

Here, other patients, supporters, and survivors will recommend products that worked for them. Add these products to your Wishlist as well, and your supporters can purchase them through our affiliate partners, including Amazon, Walmart, and more!

Don’t see a product you’re looking for? Submit your product request here and a OneVillage team member will reach out to you when the product is available to add to your Wishlist!

Get started easily with our top community recommendations!

Your Checklist

We know that the cancer experience can be overwhelming, especially when there are so many unknowns. That’s why we’ve designed a Checklist personalized to your needs - here, you’ll find a collection of our helpful articles, resources, and tools that are available to help you at every step of the way.

Get started with your Checklist and go at your own pace - when you’ve finished a task, you can check if off and learn more about what’s next.

Your Tools

Our free tools are made to help you stay organized. Not sure what to bring to the hospital, or what questions to ask your doctors? We’ve got tools for that!

These downloadable tools are easy to use, printable, and can help you and your loved ones stay organized during this stressful time.

Don’t see a tool that you think we should have? Send us an email at support@onevillage.io with the subject ‘Tools’ and a OneVillage team member will be available to help you!

Your Resources

There’s a lot of information out there about cancer, but spending hours on Google isn’t the best use of your time (or great for your mental health, let’s be honest!) and can cause unnecessary stress. That’s why we’ve got articles, videos, and personal essays that cover all sorts of topics related to cancer.

The easiest way to discover the resources you need is by exploring our Discover groups, which cover subjects such as Managing Symptoms and Side Effects, Mental Health, Advice for Chemotherapy, and so much more! In these groups, you’ll find the articles, products, and discussions that are relevant to what you need.

Your Discussions

The best place to get advice is from people who’ve gone through a similar experience. That’s why OneVillage gives our community the option to create and post their own discussions, ask questions to others impacted by cancer, and comment on their responses to people seeking help.

Explore our existing discussions or start your own conversation within a Discovery group - discussions can be questions, exciting finds, or recommendations!

Personalized Help for You

Having cancer, or taking care of someone you love who has cancer, can make you feel isolated, scared, and overwhelmed. OneVillage was created to help guide and support you through one of the most stressful times in your life. Our team is dedicated to helping you and your loved ones during this difficult time.

If you have any questions or if you’re having trouble finding what you need on OneVillage, please reach out to our team via chat in the bottom corner, email, or by scheduling 1x1 time to chat with a OneVillage ambassador. We look forward to hearing from you!

I've been using my checklist to try to get better control of what feels like a completely chaotic and overwhelming experience. I wonder if anyone else is feeling this way?
