The mission of Facing Our Risk of Cancer Empowered (FORCE) is to improve the lives of individuals and families facing hereditary cancer. FORCE accomplishes this mission by providing expert-reviewed information to help people make informed medical decisions. Its supportive community of peers and professionals ensures no one faces hereditary cancer alone. FORCE is a champion, advocating for access to care, and better treatment and prevention options.
Whether you have been diagnosed with cancer, just learned about your hereditary cancer risk, have known about it for many years, or don’t know where to turn for genetic-related questions, trained FORCE volunteers are available to offer resources and confidential support.
OneVillage is proud to partner with FORCE’s Peer Navigator program. If you are looking to speak with someone who shares a similar experience as you to receive personalized support, get matched for peer navigation! An assigned peer navigator will call and provide you with a free resource guide. FORCE’s Peer Navigation Program connects cancer survivors and people at high risk for hereditary cancers (“previvors”) to support and resources personalized tofor their situation. This program is for individuals who have just learned about their hereditary cancer risk and/or genetic mutation(s), as well as those who may have known about it for many years.
Based on the information you submit through a secure survey, you'll be matched with a trained FORCE Peer Navigator who shares a similar experience and "gets" your situation for a phone call or email excha nge. When you sign up, you will also receive a guide filled with expert-reviewed resources. This information will help you navigate your decision-making process with your family and healthcare providers.
