You really can't beat a bed table for someone recovering at home. We had one of these and the entire time my husband was recovering from surgery this made meals and just lounging / reading in bed so much more pleasant for him. One of the things I would definitely recommend getting if you are new to all of this.

I love breakfast in bed, there's something about it that makes you feel so pampered. Especially when you're going through a recent diagnosis giving yourself a chance to take a minute to rest and heal your mind and your body with a nice easy morning is really important. Not many people realize how much of a mental battle this is.

I don't think it was this exact one but I got somethign similar for my daughter when she was getting out of surgery. It was a great help with meals for those first few days when she was still on a lot of medication and honestly we still use it, although now it's for the occasional birthday breakfast in bed for her or one of my other kids! :)

There is nothing I love more than a breakfast in bed. Someone gave me this beautiful tray as a gift when I started going through treatment. I was sure that it was just going to take up space and turn into clutter but this ended up being one of the things that I used the most. It was great for reading in bed after my surgery or even during treatment when I just wasn't feeling my best, and it was also great for holding a laptop, eating meals, you name it. Even though I'm through my treatments now I still use this all the time, it would be a wonderful gift for someone going through cancer or any other illness that requires them to spend an extended amount of time recovering in bed.
