After reading all these comments, I just want to say this to everyone that when life gets too difficult to bear, your inner strength can help you fight your toughest battles. Your life is worth fighting for when necessary. Never give up.

Woke up with unbelievable stomach pain and was hunched over the toilet. Doctors didn't believe anything more than a bad stomach bug for about 2 ER visits. Finally the tests came back and it wasn't good. 12 months later I am cancer free but knowing when your body says 'help' is key. When you know, you know
August 2021 I had a kidney stone pass. It was a new thing to me. Very painful. While doing a CT and then a MRI they spotted a mass on my right kidney. Covid restrictions were in place and winter was just getting started after I saw a urologist in Mid November. Nephrectomy was the solution as the tumor was contained on the kidney. We agreed to a March surgery date that got me passed the winter chores and Covid. etc. At the end of March 2022. Had laparoscopic surgery which I recovered well from. Now on wait and watch for any new cancer to show up. It all seemed to happen so fast yet it took several months. I’m still anxious about it coming back. It was Type 1 Stage 3, Grade 3, pT3aNX, Clear cell carcinoma. Im not sure I’m writing that correctly. I turned 70 last November. It’s difficult to keep up with all this. Communication is on the phone hard through my hearing aids. The computer Check in, notes, scheduling, referrals, tests, emails are confusing. I have several health problems so here’s another. I’m so happy Spring has come. Weed pulling is good therapy. Watching people out walking their dogs and kids in strollers is cheerful. Most of my family and close friends are deceased or too distant. So there is some isolation. Just me and my partner of many years. Two old gay guys on their own. Thanks.
Oh Johnna - I couldn't agree with you more. It's so funny you say that, it's exactly the same way I feel about my own diagnosis. He is watching over us, isn't he
I had blown out my shoulder on Labor Day weekend 2018 while white water rafting…I was going thru physical therapy to try to avoid surgery, when my therapist noticed a “pucker/shadow” at 9o’clock on my right breast, there was no lump, but she said I immediately needed to get that looked at as that is one of the first signs of cancer…Mammogram was scheduled, biopsy, etc and that was that …Stage 0-1 that had not yet left the milk duct, with no node activity… God works in mysterious ways, does he not?
I had pain in my left elbow from shoveling gravel and it made me feel up my arm and to my left breast. It hurt all the way up there and left breast was swollen. Doctors thought it was a breast infection mastitis and it wasn’t. It was breast cancer.
Mine was found in a mammogram with DCIS. My invasive cancer was only found with an MRI. I’m triple positive. My treatment was TCHP, Kadcyla, DMX with complications, radiation (bad experience), Latissimus Flap on my cancer side and implant only on the non cancer side. My non cancer side was full of precancerous cells too early to show on scans. I did a Phase 2 HER2 Vaccine clinical trial and now am doing a year of Nerlynx.
Hi Robin! Ugh I am so sorry to hear that! Sending you big hugs and lots of strength, have been treated for two different types of cancers within 8 months so I totally get where you are coming from. xx
Well I had a very large tumor a few years ago and that was a major ordeal. I didn't think it would come back but I guess I never fully recovered and have been dealing with major pain for sometime now. This last year though I began throwing up my food (definitely not on purpose) and getting seriously ill. I kept going back to my GP for months and that Dr. kept saying it's nothing. She did refer me for tests but when I got to the ultrasound they didn't want to do the ultrasound bc I didn't have a "flat belly"-and I was fat shamed VERY BADLY! I CRIED A LOT after that. It was a lot of visits where I kept saying I am really sick!!!! I had to stop taking ALL my medications bc I was throwing everything up. Severe stomach pain lower left abdomen and middle abdomen. Hurt like holy hell! I had to stop eating food basically bc my body couldn't take it. I lost a ton of weight. I knew something was very wrong but noone believed me. It was so scary. Scary bc I thought to myself-Something is very wrong and noone will help me. I finally went to the ER just after the New Year bc the pain was causing me to see stars and cry. Thank GOODNESS! For an ER Dr. Who actually listened to me. He ordered a CT Scan and a large tumor showed up on my colon. It was a relief to know this wasn't all in my head but such a surprise bc I had the MRI w/contrast literally on my Pelvis abdomen-so why the heck didn't it show up? Plus that horrible ultrasound. Anyway, they found it in January and nothing has quite gone back to normal. Though I am trying super hard to hold onto my old life before the Cancer. I think I can make it thru this Cancer Storm. I have good days and then I have really bad days but I have to take it easy on myself bc Cancer really messes with your thinking. I hope other people will be listened to when they go in for the same symptoms and not just told they are "overreacting" like I was. People need to be listened to at the Doctors Office. My Colon Cancer could have and should have been identified and treated long ago.
I have asthma/COPD overlap so I was seeing a pulmonologist. He noticed a nodule on a scan. We have watched the nodule for two years. This past year it started growing quickly so he sent me to a surgeon. The surgeon wanted to take it out. They sent it for immediate diagnosis of yes or no to cancer. Came back small cell carcinoma so they removed my whole lobe. Unfortunately while he was in there he also nicked the chyle ducts. I ended up back in the hospital for a second surgery to try and fix that less than two weeks after leaving the hospital for that surgery. I am finally healing from the second surgery and start chemo next week. I was diagnosed May 3rd and it has been a whirlwind since. I am not even fully healed and they are starting chemo. There is another small nodule on the other side but they want to try chemo instead of another surgery. I am worried that all of this may be too much for my body to handle in such a small amount of time ☹️😬
I didn't have any signs or symptoms at all!! A COMPLETE fluke that mine got caught when it did. It would have been a much different story

I had a stich in my right side. It came and went, no biggie. I thought it was from all the swimming I was doing. The more frequent the pain came, I went to the doctor. He sent me to ER Stage 4 colorectal cancer, mets to lung and liver. 😳
I found a lump that I originally thought was an ingrown hair but it wasn’t. After a few months it became very painful and had grown in size and shape. I finally went to my Gynecologist and it turns out it was a Squamous Cell Carcinoma on my vulva.

Sever pain in my right arm and shoulder. The arm felt like heavy cement with tingling in the hand. Tumor in the lung.

I reached out to Dr Google cause I thought 💭 it was my appendix and it turned out that the tumor was on my appendix and my colon

I started having sum breathing issue going up steps, then sum bruises on leg n arms, ( pretty big) had a impact wisdom tooth removed 2 days later went in er room n my white blood cells were soo high i would passed that nite in my sleep per doctor. They dont know how i was still walking, talking etc, 🤔 found out was leukemia. So if sumthing doesn't look or feel rite go n have it checked out. I had alot guardian angels watching out for me!😊😊
